A Mirthful Hour

A Mirthful Hour , Plein Air Acrylic
A Mirthful Hour
My painting, "A Mirthful Hour", is created entirely in acrylic mediums and is referenced from a real photograph of the Teramoto park in Brampton, Ontario local to my residence. The choice of location was really driven by the essence of what went into taking the picture, being the visual aesthetics and a timestamp to a rather rare moment of a serene relapse. A moment where the peace comes after the storm, when the spot of attraction is immersed more respectively and with a chance of an open minded embrace. Using a flat base of white gesso, I layered my foreground colors of tonal greens and stippled, dry-brushed and stained the tints of highlights and shadows with impressionistic marks.
