Aspens in the Morning

This painting was done in the studio based on a study I did while visiting central Colorado last fall. It was late in the season, but the aspens still were holding on to their leaves. On an early morning walk, I saw the sun rise over the mountains and strike this grove of trees, lighting them up like a spotlight.
