The narrow strip of garden I painted plein air in the afternoon, was blooming with a variety of flowers in spring. There was a challenge on ignoring the parallel lines and going for a triangular composition. The wall behind was used to depict the white foxgloves. I painted round all the white areas, and did not use any masking. I love to paint flowers, especially the ones which I am familiar with and have painted often.
