This spot is a quiet little view along the Deschutes River in Bend. The reds against the greens in the water captivated me as soon as I glanced at it, and I knew I wanted to paint it. That same vegetation without the strong light is just a dull, greyish-brown color. Add light from the setting sun and it becomes a completely different color palette and composition. Bright warms against cool snow shadows always beckon me in the winter landscape!
